Martin Luther King Day

To show students that everyone is equal, I used the egg activity. It was great! I've seen Smorgasboard do it for a couple of years now.

I started this activity by reading a book on Martin Luther King.

Egg Activity
First, I asked them to tell me about the eggs they were holding. We discuss the outside of the eggs for about 5 minutes. It took prompting to get them to notice that the eggs were different colors.

Then, we predicted what we would see when we opened the eggs.

Next, we discussed what they saw.

After, we drew Martin and wrote about him.
